Style Inspiration: Janet Jackson

This outfit was inspired by the an outfit that Janet Jackson wore in the movie "Why did I get married too?" It's was the scenes where she'd just arrived at the beach house in this vibrant yellow A-lined shirt-dress, it was amazing and when I saw it I knew right then and there that I needed this type of dress in my life STAT! Of course my dress is not exactly like hers in that scene, but damn it it's close, and that's fine with me. I love this dress as well, even though at first I was unsure of the hue of yellow, it turned out to be just what I needed in my wardrobe and I'm happy with my purchase. It's effortless, which is what I love about it amongst other things, and I can see myself wearing this dress frequently throughout the spring and summer.

What She Wore...

Fierce Giraffe.

As much as I love leopard print, (and if you don't believe me when I say that I love leopard print just you wait and see), my all time favorite print is that of a giraffe. It's sad that this print isn't given as much time to shine as does its fellow print, which is  leopard, because it is just so damn elegant and sophisticated.

Message to retailers and the designers who market what's in a stores Lookbook: Please, please, please let this print take center stage more often...the world needs it.
