Lower Eastside Cruising.

by Jamila Pierre

I set out today on a mission, CAPTURE SOME STREET STYLE, and let me tell you I almost came up empty handed. Usually it's not this dry, more people act like they know that today's the day they get accosted to be documented in their fabulosity for some bloggers blog....I do not know what happened today, but it seemed as though those folk were nowhere to be found.

And then it happened, after sheer disappointment I began to spot some people who I deemed worthy of a blog post.  (Check out my "Featured Style" page to see what it is I speak of).

Now I know not everyone in that blog post is donning an outfit that bleeds extravagance, but that's what I was going for. I wanted to demonstrate how having style isn't always about bells and whistles. Sometimes it's a standout fashion show, and other times it's as simple as a plain white Tee, black leggings and an ornate piece of jewelry and/or shoes.

The outfit I'm wearing below is my idea of casual. This is an everyday type of outfit for me and you may have seen/ or will see me wear a variation of this very outfit because honestly it's my go to. If I want to demonstrate my style without too many bells, then this right here my friends is my outfit of the year.

A Second Birthday Celebration.

by Jamila Pierre

You have to understand, I'm not the type of girl that celebrates my birthday... so having yet another moment to celebrate was just not what I had planned.

I had a second celebration...this time with my friends. It was just a night for drinks, cake, shit talk, and card games, so I didn't get too snazzy at all. I kept it really low key, seeing as how I was going to be home "GETTING CRUNK" , by wearing a summer dress that I purchased  two years ago from New York & CO. It was a bit chilly out when I went to go get some more alcohol so I threw on an extremely light trench.

I have to say I really enjoyed myself. It was the first time in a long time that I had the company of school friends and non-school friends congregate in one place, with me as the common denominator. Those situations are always a bit awkward but after a few drinks, everyone and their mama loosened up and a blast was had. I was pleasantly surprised at how well everyone meshed together.

After the party died down we all decided it would be best to take the party from my house to my home skillets house. I didn't get home until about 5AM, get to sleep until 6AM, or wake up with anything less than feeling like total crap. It was worth it!
