Gemini:The Arms

by Jamila Pierre

May 21st - June 20th.

Symbol: The Twins

Ruling Planet: Mercury -- the planet of communication

Body Part: Shoulders, arms, hands

Element: Air

Secret wish: To have all the answers

"The Gemini mind (and mouth!) is a busy machine, always moving at warp speed. That's because your sign is ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication. Mercury also rules technology and the mind, making Gemini one of the most curious and cutting-edge signs of the zodiac. Geminis change faster than the weather, and constantly flip between moods and interests. One day, you're into frilly, girl stuff. The next day, you're over that and skydiving out of an airplane."

"Walking into a closet of a Gemini can feel confusing to most. They have a wide variety of styles and to many it may seem very sporadic. Gemini has an attraction for clothes that are fun, bold, and can be easily taken care of and washed. A fashion style of a Gemini can be described as eclectic, funky and eccentric. They love accessories, including jewelry and bags. The sign of Gemini is The Twins, which also fits in well with their style. For many, they may think of a Gemini as having two personalities when it comes to their sense of fashion. Although they can have a funky style, Gemini is always put together in their own way. Typically, when a Gemini heads to a closet, they look for a balance between playful and casual."

When I think of Gemini, I think of the multiple facets that make up who they are, I think of not just so much of the initial pop of a fire cracker, but more so the colorful aftermath as the embers dissipating into the air. I feel the mirrored print of the dress and the flashes of color throughout the accessories best convey that.

Impracticality For Thanksgiving.

by Jamila Pierre

Soooooo, for Thanksgiving I decided to wear one of the most impractical outfits ever known to mankind.

Every article I wore was just not Thanksgiving friendly, from the waist cinching to the tight pants...this outfit did not allow for maximum belly stuffing.

When Thanksgiving comes around I usually opt for more stretchy, giving pieces. I want to be able to overload my plate and subsequently overload my stomach with all of the trimmin's. For these activities one must have garments that are at least 60% spandex ....I was only donning a good 5%...TISK TISK... NO GOOD.

Needless to say, I disrobed ASAP and draped myself in the stretchiest garb I could find. (Not pictured here)

Once I had my new outfit on it was chow time; I talk a good game but I was only able to eat a plate and a half, however, my husband was a Gavone and practically ate the house...still don't know where he puts it.

Overall, this Thanksgiving was one of the best ones we've had in a long while and brought to light why it is we should give thanks on other days outside of just Thanksgiving.

Bellow is an image of my outfit with reasons why this outfit was a 'Thanksgiving FAIL'.
