Emerald.

by Jamila Pierre

Ode to emerald.

As you know, if you've read my "Spring Green" article for ManikMag.com, I'm pretty smitten with this color and how it reads across the board from season to season.

Actually, my absolute favorite color of all time is green...all except  what I consider to be Fake Green ( Leaf Green), it's that green they use for all things St. Patrick's Day. I can't stand it! Never could!

Though to my detestment people insist on designating any given thing to a particular season, I can say with conviction, that OK OK maybe this is an optimal spring color.

But damn it, don't it just look good all year around?

Anyway, I'm all for cool weather, but this Winter has got me feeling pretty shitty. This is not to say that Summer would make me feel any better, I despise the heat with the depths of my soul so no thank you, but this frigid weather and incessant snowfall is cramping my style.

If I could live in the land of Spring and Fall for all eternity, all would be good in the hood and frowns would be turned upside down.

Below are a two pairings featuring my emerald sweater from none other than Target, and my shout out to the much anticipated Spring.

Spring, my beloved, where art thou?

Texture, Pattern, & Shine.

by Jamila Pierre

The three most important factors to most any outfit, outside of fit, are texture/pattern/shine.

These are the things I look for, these are the things i can't resist. When putting this outfit together I could almost hear Stacy London and Clinton Kelly doing a slight Iris Jig behind me in celebration.

And it was altogether extremely simple to pull together, very effortless.

That's the thing about T.P.S, it almost never requires much thought and is fairly fail proof ....weeeellllllll...... some people can get a little crazy with it; I condone extreme acts of style, but there's something to be said about a person who knows how to edit their look and still exude what they originally intended to.

My sense of style is a constant mutation and exploration of who I was, who I am, and who I am to become, while trying to master the art of the perfect edit.
