Jurassic Park Cooling.

by Jamila Pierre

You know those days, the days when you couldn't be bothered with the fuss of being all "razzle dazzle" (as my husband likes to call it), and you just reluctantly roll out of bed on a cold day? You find yourself staring at your shambled closet wondering, "What in the actual hell do I want to wear that fits my mood of "lazy days"...but still has a hint of my personality shining through?".

Then it hit me...Ahhh Yes...a sweatshirt, one with gold foiled Dino-skeletons all over it...an oldie but a goodie. Every time I put this sweatshirt on, nostalgia comes over me, it reminds me of those old-school dino-onsies from childhood (good times man, good times)

I paired it with all black because why not; nothing says "I woke up like this" as effortlessly as all black.

And because I hand out jigs and shimmies like rice at weddings, below is a shot of me attempting to prove to you that I am in fact not going on 3 hours of sleep and am fighting a category 4 headache.

Side Note: You'd be hard pressed to tell me I don't look like I'm about to break into the "Shmoney Dance"....just saying.

What I'm Wearing:

  1. Sweatshirt from Forever21.com. $22.80
  2. High-Waisted jeans from Forever21.com. $17.80
  3. Boots from Charlotterusse.com. $15 (On sale from $45)
  4. Shmoney dance from Bobby Shmurda. $Priceless

Tree Trimming!

by Jamila Pierre

My main Bish, Amy (the babe who looks like Wilma Flintstone), decided to throw a little tree trimming party for just us heifers (before you get all butt-hurt, these are terms of endearment). I gotta be honest...I almost didn't go. If you've been keeping up with me then you know I suffer from chronic head/spine aches that come and go as they so choose, and can last anywhere from a few moments to a few hours....to a few days. Plus, in light of current events (watch the news)....being in a funk is an understatement, and on this particular day I was not only in a bit of a funk, but my head was throbbing something wicked.

However, I decided to try and turn my frown upside-down, spend some time away from my own thoughts, and try and get into the holiday spirit. So I got as cute as this horrendously cold weather would permit, popped on my new matte lip cream from NYX (in the color Prague) and made my way to trim a tree and indulge in some homemade chocolate chip cookies and a home-cooked meal with people that I care about.

I decided to steer clear of the typical holiday color palette but I stuck with the holiday shine. I went with my dual purpose (warm & chic) light grey sequin-mustache sweatshirt and a fuchsia collared top as my pop of color, together with some black skinnies and a biker boot...I was ready to go.

Le Tree/ Ornament Close-Up!

This year has been a roller coaster of emotions and events, so many things took place in my life and the lives of the people in my life that I'm kinda glad that this year is coming to an end. Doors have been opened though and new chapters are set to begin, I can only hope that the new year will manifest many great things for myself and the people I hold so dear to me...lord knows we've all worked so hard to achieve greatness. As for me specifically, quite a few things have been set into motion, things I can't wait to share with all of you! 2015 shall be insane to say the least, y'all ain't ready.
