{PLUS} FALL LOOKBOOK 2015.

by Jamila Pierre

Lord when I tell you, to get this Lookbook done was a trip and a half.....

The concept behind it was one I wanted and had in mind for a long time. I would always have mini Lookbooks play out in my head to the tune of whatever was blaring through my headphones at the moment. And even with all that went into this Lookbook, how much I LOVE it and am proud, it still doesn't exactly look like the wild and crazy that lives in my imagination.

I partially blame myself for not being able to fully articulate the crazy (verbally or otherwise), but DAMN IT if this Lookbook isn't FIYAH though!

I know we're heading into winter full speed ahead...but I don't care, because most of these looks will probably be worn then too...so watch and enjoy!

(Below is the behind the scenes of this Lookbook and some of the foolishness that went on during. It's a short clip but...)

Towards the end I was so spent, I live with a chronic illness that doesn't really allow me to over exert myself, to be super mobile, or to barely do what I did for this video...for this blog even, but I was gonna be damned if I wouldn't make this here video.

It was shot in the dead of July with the heat just thick and nagging, my headache and spine situation was on straight stupidity, but I actually enjoyed myself through all of the pain and literal sweat beads. I was out of commission for like a week or so but it was worth it.

Plus Size Militia.

Welcome to the first post of the year 2014!

New Year's Eve, and all days from two weeks prior leading up to the day most people look forward to, are filled with contemplations, reflections, and social media time-lines that may very well drive a person mad (due to the repetition).

Everyone and their mother wants to express their desire to change for the better in the new year and declare it as "Their Year".

Uh uh uh, before you mistaken my mini rant that is about to take place for "Hatertude", please take a moment to try and understand where I’m coming from.

Before I continue on let me be clear in saying; everyone is entitled to express themselves how they see fit, everyone is allowed to claim their life and declare their desire to change for the better in the new year...I just need for people to start living up to their potential.

This is very easy for anyone to say of course, I am no exception...I too need to get my ISH together; which is why I decided years ago that if I’m going to make a declaration of change...an actual effort to change and improve...then I wouldn't be the person who hoards that improvement for the end of a year, only  to show the most minimal stick-to-itiveness possible after the first week following the New Year and reverting back to the same BS I wanted to believe so desperately I was going to change.

As far as I’m concerned, everyday is New Years and chance to be better...do better.

Don't take another second for granted.
