MY BLUE SUEDE SHOES.

by Jamila Pierre

OK, so how proud of me are you that I've finally taken my hair down from "Pineapples R' US"...? I Told you guys that I'd be wearing that hairstyle to the point of ridiculousness...and I meant it. Trust me...it will be back! But for now we shall appreciate something a little more tame.

Can we take a brief moment to discuss my lip color?! Like....seriously? This LASplash Cosmetics lip couture-lip paint, in "Til' Midnight"... **Jaw Drops**, I DIE! I thought for sure it was going to be a straight orange (which I have been craving these days...aside from the other more funky colors), but the dry down was a bit more red instead. Either way I'm still very much pleased with the end result.

And let's not forget to get into this top! This is the very same top as the one from my last post (with the exception of color and print of course), this ISH is just everything I could ask for in a "basic" top. The only complaint I have is the fact that it didn't come in every color of the rainbow, and in every damn print. This is seriously the cut of top I look for when I'm looking for casual-wear, but it's ridiculously hard to find.

The length of the sleeve, the rise of the neck, how it rounds out at the bottom and how the splits on the sides cup my booty ever so righteously, it's just pure perfection. The material is substantial so it holds up to my jiggly bits and it's casual but not too casual as to where I look sloppy. Last but not least, it has an exposed zipper which adds an edgy yet classy touch to what would seem to be  a "basic" top (to which I didn't get a picture of because...epic fail).

ABSOLUTE PERFECTION!!!

I decided to pull out my not so basic white jeans that are adorned with watercolor splatters, and my Nine West faux blue suede shoes. It had been a while since the last time I'd brought these kitties out and it wasa perfect finishing touch to the tons I had going on already. What I love most about this fit is that with as many little statements going on, as a whole, this look is pretty tame while still holding interest.

How To: White Printed Pant

by Jamila Pierre

Okay, so I'm one of those people who loves light colored pant, namely white, and just could never see myself wearing them. I just felt that a person like me wearing a pair of white pants would mean:

  1. No longer white after one wash.
  2. Target for dirt and stains
  3. Shows every imperfection and cellulite bump.

I have often admired a crisp clean pair of white jeans and wondered how the person who's wearing it does it.

Well I finally found my perfect pair that allows me to do it, and this is why:

  1. It isn't exactly completely white.
  2. It has a pattern on them so that when you spill something on them, it's barely noticeable. *YAY for splatter print!
  3. The slight print isn't too over powering and isn't in a color that's too saturated, keeping it from being a light pair of pants.
  4. The slight pattern conceals and distracts. *YAY to camouflaged cellulite!*

Seeing as how a printed pant can border immature, now if that's something you don't mind then do you, I decided to elevate it a tad by adding a crisp white button down, a statement necklace, and a bag and heels that help the colors of the splatter shine through. I wanted the splatter to be visible but not be the focus of the look, which is why I went with such bright shoes and accessories. I can now take this outfit from work to date night without even having to change any of the pieces out.

Don't get me wrong, I don't always feel like classing it up and I've been known to veer on the immature side and just plain old not give an ISH about being elegant...but some times you're feeling special and want to show it.
