THIS Hi-Lo...? From TEYXO tho...? FIYA!!!
I really wish I had a more eloquent collection of words for my starting sentence, but honestly...just look at it. I don't own many hi-lo pieces, which is not without effort and I've slowly been changing that reality. It's not that I don't like them, I'm just choosy and haven't found many that have called my name through the isles of the department stores, nor through my computer screen during my many a late-night window shopping extravaganzas.
But during the time in which I first discovered TEYXO (where I did an entire feature on the brand/designer on ManikMag.com and on MY BLOG), the designer sent me a few pieces to really get a feel for the brand.
If you click upon those links you'll undoubtedly see lines upon lines of straight OOOOOOO'ing & AAAAAAHHHHH'ing, because honestly I felt Lara Popa's aesthetic was a breath of fresh air (my sentiments remain the same).
I chose this dress, not only because I wanted to expand upon my hi-lo collection, but because it had traits that I just wasn't finding in garments similar to this one. It's rare to find this type of dress, with not only long sleeves...but in a lightweight pliable cooling material (that isn't your average rayon/poly/spandex mix), and has a high neck without being overly stuffy. To top it all off, it pretty much hits the ground if I don't have a bit of a heel (which I kind of really love), and it has fun little details (the buttons) that make it look like a dress version of a vintage pair of onesie pajamas with the buttons up the top and the back...the official name of them escapes me. If you know the name of them, leave it in the comment section below.
And of course this post couldn't just be about the dress.....
How could we not address the elephante in the room, yea?
The MEANMUG MEGA TOTE!
Ok, so when I was perusing some of my fave online shops during Labor Day (tryin' to cop some deals, but of course), I came across the most epic of bags...of my entire existence (so far at least)
This bag seriously embodies that of which is I.
I mean, I can be all laughs and jokes, I am extremely loving and nurturing (cookies & cupcakes...etc...all that good stuff...scouts honor), but got dang it if I ain't queen of the side eye. I reign supreme, can't help it, people piss me off, I don't like the ISH I see, I could go on for days about that...but I won't. Moral of the story, this bag was literally made for me **Cues Jewels song "You were meant for me"**.
It's not only the most awesome take on the smiley face bags throughout the decades, the bag literally fits my life in it. It's the new "Life Bag".
