Silver & Taupe

by Jamila Pierre

Typically when one thinks Fall they think warm deep saturated hues, to be honest I do too, but you gotta give it up for the slightly unexpected. You gotta give it up for the cool tones, pastels, even the neon's  that make their much appreciated appearance from time to time.

Could we also discuss my infatuation (which is steadily growing into a full blown Romeo & Juliet kind of love) for purple lippies....like....can we? It's the perfect balance of dark and bright, making me feel sensual and giddy all at the same time.

I bought this dress (in several colors because i'm a crazy person) from Target, along with a bunch of other things that will surely grace the bloggity soon enough. I knew I wanted to tie it into a hiked up knot and I wanted to pair it with a few edgy pieces.

STATEMENTS, STATEMENTS, & MORE STATEMENTS!

I threw on my black leather shorts from Forever21 (which you can't even see) so that people wouldn't be able to see my naughty bits.

Also, these boots are becoming my life boots and it petrifies me to no end, it means that I my urge to wear them will increase and by doing so they will inevitably meet their demise.

What I'm Wearing:

  1. Dress from Target.com. $11 (On sale)
  2. Belt from V.I.M. $12
  3. Jacket from Strawberry. $19.99
  4. Necklace from AFAZE. (3 for $10)
  5. Boots from CharlotteRusse.com. $15 (On sale from $45)

Chartreuse & Pig-Buns

by Jamila Pierre

I am and forever will be a fan of this color....in other news:

On this day I headed out with the hubz to run a few errands, it was also the first time in a long time that I wore my hair up in two pig-buns. Once upon a time my hair was sans locks and I rocked the hell out of this hair style all of the time...to the point of nauseum. I then started the locking process and my hairstyle varied from a ponytail to just plain ole' loose. At some point my hair grew down to the crack of my ass and by then my hair was too massive for me to balance with finesse.  A good 6 yrs later I cut my hair into a bob, this didn't allow me much leeway as it pertains to styling, and just a couple of months ago I decided to let my hair grow again to see if it could reach my tookus once more.

In the mean time I decided to pull out my tried and true hairstyle (the pig-buns) and i'm curious to see how sick and tired I can become of it...care to join me?

As for the outfit... I paired one of my most comfortable pantalones of all time (next to my Forever21 high-waisted  jeans), with a chartreuse blouse and my studded boots. I wanted to teeter on the edge  of  "I just rolled out of my closet" and "I actually give a damn" so I cuffed up my jeans, threw on a necklace, popped on a lippy, threw my hair up, and was ready to go.
