Ok ok, shame on me... but I never even knew that there was a full figured fashion week until recently, and when I found out I told myself that I would look into finding a way to be a part of it.
And of course I had to make sure the outfit I wore to attend the event/s was going to make me feel like a million bucks.
I decided to wear an LBD with a what I like to refer to as a Shrugigan, it's a mix between a shrug and a cardigan. I also needed a belt to define my waist and some cute comfy shoes that tied the look together.
I chose this dress from Forever21 because it wasn't a typical plain LBD, it had an embossed print that a friend of mine refers to as black paper towel print, and it seriously spoke to me in the store.
I then needed a Shrugigan to cover my "unmentionables" but everything had zero shape to it and would hide the cute shape of the dress. Then I found the perfect one, it hit me at the perfect spot of my waist and the best part is it cinches in the back to keep your shape emphasized...sorry I didn't get that part photographed...Fail.
I chose some kitten heels for comfort and a waist belt to also add emphasis and interest to my waist line.
And of course I added my shades that give me a false sense of "too school for cool" and a statement necklace cause come on now...it wouldn't say Jamila,
