Long-Line Lumberjack.

by Jamila Pierre

OK, so as much as I love wearing these glasses on my face (despite how on the fence I may be about whether they flatter me or not, from time to time), I'm actually becoming more and more obsessed with donning them atop my head. I just like the goggle effect it's giving me without being overly goggle-like....or did I just nail it and put that in your head and make you totally see nothing but goggles now, turning it into absolutely goggles from goggle-like...?

Anyway, I just dig it now and again.

Lets dig deeper into contrast.

Here we have me with the "goggles" on, I look different right? I like it just the same. I also like the change in backdrop and the contrast between a motorcycling lumberjack, and a chic....you fill in the blanks.

The juxtaposition between hard and soft or "boy" and "girl", is always a good thing...it's always a GOOD thing. So having this slightly faded, ready to chop all the wood in the land...ready to yell TIMBER on that ass, mixed with a flowing and pliable (yet solid and heavy) long-lined vest, and these primo shades/ "goggles" (lmfao)......? Just good. And the bling of choice bridges the gap between both worlds effortlessly.

Ooooop, I switched it up on 'em, lol. The background doesn't really go with the attire as well as the others but it was at my disposal so I went for it any ole way. I can however appreciate the background with my top...just saying.

I just love this top, it's unfortunate that it can't be found anymore online, but I'll do my best to try and find some comparable items so that you can get something close to my look, if you so please.

Let us take a moment to appreciate the absence of gravity and then it's return all in one shot. All of jiggly bits were definitely being pulled in different directions for many of the takes, even for this one, and if it were shot from the profile you'd be in for a sight. I love it, granted it's a shot of my landing, but I love it! I really shouldn't even be doing this but I'm stubborn and I couldn't resist the moment to take back a piece of who lives inside of this chronically ill person. You just have to do it sometimes.

LUMBERJACK CHIC: ROUND3

by Jamila Pierre

My love affair with this damn jacket continues, I just don't think you fully understand how much this jacket speaks to me. This is now the third installment of said jacket and I gotta say....I don't see myself getting tired of it any time soon.....nope....no time soon.

In my first outfit I wore the jacket closed and belted as a top with a skirt, in my second outfit I wore it open with leggings and a plain long-sleeve; both outfits were void of print and color with the exception of the jacket. In this third look I decided to mix prints, so I paired the jacket with this  black and grey (textured) leopard-print dress.

If you've been reading my blog for a while then you are well aware of my affinity for mixing prints, there's something so off-putting yet absolutely magical and logical about it all at the same time that makes it just work. And honestly, this particular mixture of prints is pretty bad-ass.

The Concept of leopard and plaid/tartan isn't new, in fact I see it classically done with your basic warm-toned color palette and leopard mixed with varying plaid prints and coloring; but rarely have I seen a mixture like I've done here. The print of this dress is like a non- leopard type of leopard and its cool toned...I don't know man...it seemed like a new approach to me....

In any event, like always, I'm over the moon over this FIT! Let me know what you think about this look down below, how you feel about leopard and plaid, or how you feel about mixing prints in general.
