Came across this collage I posted a while back to remind people of the last three consecutive post I'd done, and just realized how much in fact this photo demonstrates my style in a nutshell...well at least 90% of it. Also had a convo recently about it & found myself confronted with this question about personal style quite a bit these past few weeks. I've never really been able to pinpoint my style (not that I'm pressed to put myself in anybodies box... #ThatsWhatSheSaid), but this image is the closest thing. Some days I'm feeling more like a boy than others but for the most part I'm feminine with heavy infusions of color juxtapositions (the things that unexpectedly make sense), and inherently edgy pieces (whether it be presented within clothing or accessories). I can also leap from one extreme to another and become work-wear obsessed #ItsTheSecretaryInMe. I sometimes find myself engrossed in a time period, which will then shape my feels for the day or week even. Other than that here's my checklist:
- Saturated colors
- Prints & mixing them (Animal, Abstract, geometric, etc...)
- All things "edgy" (Spikes, studs, etc...)
- Skulls & bonesπ (Not all skulls or skull prints are created equal... So I don't like them all, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't have a weakness for it or that my eyes didn't light up)
- Bling Bling, every time I come around your wayππππππ (Because I love me some glitter & sequins... especially if they're in unexpected places)
NC Style Tip: It's OK if you want to narrow your personal style down and have a cohesive look and wardrobe (makes good sense), but I encourage you to be more open minded to other styles that can be infused into your already existing one. Find new ways to refresh your look, and try to do so without looking like you're perpetrating (I will have a how-to on that soon enough as well)
NC Question: Have you yet defined your personal style? If so, let me and the readers know down in the comment section bellow!
-Cheers
