Monochrome & Sequins

by Jamila Pierre

Let me just say, that I've loved monochrome since before I was born, especially when it's done in earth/jewel tones, or muted dusty tones...

JESUS THERE GOES THAT WHEEL AGAIN, TAKE IT!

It's so effortless and put together that you really can't go wrong, a perfect excuse to play with textures and shine to give your outfit depth and layers.

Which brings me to the next topic, SHINE!

Anyone who knows me, knows of my love affair with reflective materials and the bold statement it makes, give me GLITTER, SEQUINS, HOLOGRAPHIC AND/OR METALLIC MATERIALS any day...any time.

Oh and don't get me started on bejeweled necklines, especially on sweaters and crew-neck sweatshirts. I just love punchy articles of clothing and unexpected touches (that's what she said), so you could imagine my elation when I saw an anorak jacket adorned with sequin sleeves... needless to say I was passing out status.

At this point you might be asking yourself why i'm always either passing out or on the brink of passing out due to clothing or accessories....it's just that some things are just so damn GOOD, such GENIUS, and undoubtedly speak to my SOUL, I just can't help but get a little light headed when there's a fierce overload.

I decided to go with a pair of brown boots that had copper, distressed tones to it so it can act more like a piece of jewelry as opposed to just a boot.

Calling All Statement Blazers!

by Jamila Pierre

Blazers get in my closet!

Who in their right mind doesn't like em', own em', and/or want em'?

All I ever wore for years of my adolescent life were hoodies, cause as I've stated in numerous posts before, I was a grungy little east village party kid. Then as became more of a "lady", I wore almost nothing but cardigans.

Flash forward to about two years ago, I became a full fledged businessman with my own theme song as I walked down the street or entered a room.

Yet another bit of information I've included in prior posts, I have a strong affinity towards work wear silhouettes/attire with a touch of a spark...i'm either ready to go to work, a die hard/rebellious/punky souled individual, or I'm rockin' straight hobo fashions...that's me in a nutshell.

I've generated quite the collection and though i'm not showcasing all of my blazers here, I do hope you enjoy the ones I am, as much as I enjoy wearing them.
